Boomerang is the solo project of Bérénice Pouplet, a singer, songwriter and composer from Bordeaux who has been making music for nearly 15 years.
Her musical world lies at the crossroads of pop and alternative rock, accompanied by poetic writing and cinematic atmospheres. Her influences are varied, and not only musical, ranging from P.J. Harvey to The Doors, from David Lynch to Patti Smith, as well as Wim Wenders, Feu! Chatterton and CocoRosie, to name just a few.
After two EPs released in 2020 (“Jour G”) and 2021 (“Visions Panoramiques”), followed by a shift towards a more distinctive identity with her single “Merveilleuse & Maudite” in 2022, she returned in 2025 with her first album, “Arden”. This marked a turning point, confirming the evolution of her style towards a more mature alternative pop sound while retaining a touch of experimentation and artistic freedom, notably by creating the project’s music videos and visuals herself.
Boomerang likes to venture into intimate territory and paradoxes, with sounds moving between electronic and analogue textures, multiple voices, and rhythms sometimes created using everyday objects at hand, those that surround us and feel familiar.
