Abridged Terms and Conditions of Service

This version is a simplified presentation of the Terms and Conditions of Service.

By paying your invoice, you enter into an agreement with The Queen Is Dead Records to distribute your music on streaming platforms and digital stores. No subscription is required. Each service is paid for individually.

1. What The Queen Is Dead Records does
​​

  • Listens to your music and reviews the audio files and cover artwork (to check that they meet the required standards)

  • Carries out a technical assessment to identify any potential mixing or mastering issues

  • Can offer an optimized mixing service or corrective mastering to reduce any potential issues (optional)

  • Can generate ISRC codes for your tracks and UPC codes for your releases

  • Sends your music to platforms for distribution (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Qobuz, Instagram, TikTok...)

  • Can send your music to Beatport and create a label with a catalogue for you, for electronic music only (optional)

  • Can create RELEASE or ARTIST Pages (optional)

  • Collects the revenue generated by streaming activity on the platforms

  • Answers your questions about digital distribution




2. What The Queen Is Dead Records does not do

  • Does not guarantee the commercial success or exploitation of your music

  • Does not provide refunds, even if you request the removal of your music from the platforms

  • Does not provide refunds, even if you do not use your optional Pages (RELEASE or ARTIST)

  • Does not provide promotional support or marketing strategy, but may offer some advice

  • Does not charge subscription fees or apply retroactive price changes

  • Does not provide music publishing agreements

  • Does not provide daily statistics, but can send you a summary by email whenever you request one

  • Does not edit Spotify or other platform profiles, but can help you do it yourself​​​​​​​



3. Payment & Royalties
 

  • You pay for each release (single, EP, album): one payment = one distribution

  • After this payment, and only after payment has been received, your music is sent to the platforms

  • You receive royalties only if:

    • The advance associated with your pricing plan has been recouped through streams/sales

    • Your cumulative balance reaches at least €25

  • If you remove your music before reaching €25, this amount may be retained as an administration fee

  • The amount of revenue generated by the streaming activity of your music is available upon request




4. What you send to The Queen Is Dead Records
 

  • You provide your music, artwork and metadata through the distribution form

  • If a file is rejected by a platform, you will need to correct it

  • You must be responsive and/or plan ahead: immediate release processing times may vary (2 days or more)




5. Your rights & the rights of The Queen Is Dead Records
 

  • You retain ownership of your music

  • You grant The Queen Is Dead Records the right to sell and distribute it through the relevant platforms




6. What is prohibited
 

  • Any attempt to manipulate streaming figures (using bots, artificial clicks, etc.)

  • If such activity is detected, your revenue may be blocked, cancelled or even reclaimed

  • If you use an external promotional service provider, you are responsible for their actions




7. Legal obligations
 

  • You must hold the rights to everything you submit (music, samples, artwork)

  • You must pay the relevant rights holders (musicians, beatmakers, songwriters, etc.) where applicable




8. In case of a problem
 

  • In the event of a dispute, French law applies

  • You may terminate the agreement at any time by email, subject to 15 days’ notice

  • In the event of an error or legal claim, you will be responsible for the costs if you are at fault
